Sleeping Benig

Throughout his 6 months of life, Benig has been training to win the sleep Olympics. Â I project on him, “Put me anywhere, Mommy, and I can go to sleep!”
Week 33 in the NICU on Daddy’s Chest
1 week old, while on pumpkins
At 4 weeks old, on the lunch table under a glaring puffin
At 5 weeks old on dates
In the arms of friends he meets for the first time at 6 weeks old
In the middle of a hold up at 6 weeks old
With his mentor, Santa, at 9 weeks old
In the middle of a snow storm at 3 months old
And at 4 months old, sitting up in the sun like an old man
I can’t wait to see where else Benig can triumphantly fall asleep.
He must have inherited this trait from his great-grandmother, Lola Sunny. She once fell asleep in the bank while waiting for her withdrawal. No one had the heart to wake her up so she slept on the couch for an hour till it was time for the bank tellers to go home. When she woke up she was surprised why it was so quiet and only then realized that most of the people were gone and they were just waiting for her to wake up.
